Dance is beyond pure entertainment.
As someone who is unable to dance but has always had a fascination with the medium - and the way that it can make you feel - I wanted to find a way to involve myself with dance by incorporating it into my photography. I use long exposure to try to create an ethereal image which captures the movement of the performers but also brings a novel aspect to the photographic image itself, for both creator and viewer, evoking in the latter something of the emotion invested in the dance.
The project was originally conceived for my degree show, which sadly had to be cancelled, but the cancellation has lent it even more meaning, given the degree of feeling and the hard work that went into its creation.
